Aubregrinia taiensis is a large tall tree that can grow up to 45m tall. A. taiensis has a straight bole, almost cylindrical but slightly fluted at the base. The tree has low buttresses, rough bark with vertical fissures.
Reaching up to 30 meters in height, T. ivorensis has a straight, unbranched trunk. Its diameter ranges from 2 to 4.75 meters, and it is usually branchless for a large portion of its length. The bole is straight and crisp, sometimes fluted and frequently with little buttresses.
Pericopsis elata typically develops a long, straight, and cylindrical bole, often clear of branches for 15–25 meters in mature trees. The trunk can reach up to 1.5 meters in diameter, occasionally more, especially in undisturbed forests.
